Invisalign
Dr. Bibby is a Certified Invisalign® Provider
Invisalign can be a great way to get the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted - without braces. After your initial consultation, Dr. Bibby will determine if Invisalign® is an option that is right for you!
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. So you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology, and has been proven a very effective and efficient way to move teeth. More than 70% of Orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to treat with Invisalign.
Why would I want it?
Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. The monitoring visits are quite short, from 10-20 minutes, and there is minimal discomfort afterwards.
Invisalign technology also allows you to view your own computerized treatment plan online, so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
Impressions of your teeth are taken and sent to Align Technology in California. They use a CT scanner to transform your tooth impressions into 3D computer images. After Dr. Bibby programs the tooth movements, a series of aligners are custom made for you. Each set of aligners is worn for 2-3 weeks, and you remove them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As each aligner is replaced with the next in the series your teeth will move gradually, week by week, until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Bibby has prescribed. You'll visit our office about once every 6-9 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 6-18 months, but this will vary from case to case.
